Docpoint – Helsinki Documentary Film Festival

Aïcha, facing an important ruling with her citizenship, discovers an issue: her name is misspelled. Aïcha is distraught, and when her mother is of no help, Aïcha decides to search for answers on her own. The changing of her name takes Aïcha on a journey understanding basic human rights.

The film is a combination of documentary and fiction and takes an intriguing look at identity through the significance of a name. This inventive film makes us reflect on individuals as part of a community and the power of that community in a changing world.
